About

The Grafton to Inverell Cycle Classic is a 228-kilometre cycling road race conducted on a point-to-point course between the towns of Grafton and Inverell in northern New South Wales. Participants ride over some of the most demanding terrain in worldwide cycling including the climb of the Gibraltar Range, an 18-kilometre ascent from the Clarence Valley to the New England Highlands. The race is six to seven hours long, depending on weather conditions. The Grafton to Inverell Cycle Classic is a highlighted event in the AusCycling National Road Series (NRS). The men’s and women’s NRS races feature the leading male and female riders and teams in Australia as they battle for the honour of winning this prestigious event. In 2024 the event is expanding to provide cyclists throughout the country with the opportunity to be part of the iconic ‘Grafton’ by entering the new ‘Grafton to Inverell Pairs Relay’ or the ‘Mt Mitchell to Inverell Open’. The popular ‘Non-NRS’ race which made a successful debut last year will return renamed as the ‘Grafton to Inverell Open’ where riders compete in age group categories over the full course of 228-kilometres and have the option to nominate as part of a team. Bring along the family to support the riders and enjoy the carnival atmosphere at the finish line on Vivian Street, Inverell.
