About

Come join our VIP Guest Reader, Mayor Denise Knight, for an extra special Storytime to celebrate National Simultaneous Storytime.

National Simultaneous Storytime (NSS) is held annually by the Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA).

Every year a picture book, written and illustrated by an Australian author and illustrator, is read simultaneously in libraries, schools, pre-schools, childcare centres, family homes, bookshops and many other places around the country.

Now in its 21st successful year, it is a colourful, vibrant, fun event that aims to promote the value of reading and literacy.

We're so excited to celebrate NSS this year with our VIP Guest Reader and hope you'll join us at the Cavanbah Centre! This year we're reading "Give Me Some Space" by Philip Bunting.

Book your ticket here!

Since this is a "in-person" event, we've had to make a few changes to the Storytime structure so that everyone stays safe.

  • When booking tickets , please book a ticket for each member in your family group! E.g. one ticket for the adult attending, and one ticket for each child attending.
  • It's still free to attend Storytime!
  • We can have a maximum of 100 people this session, with family groups limited to 5. The amount of tickets one person can "purchase" will reflect this.
  • If you don't register for a session, unfortunately you won't be able to attend Storytime.
