A "must see" performance
About
Comprising spoken word, music and film, this engaging and almost certainly enlightening performance art piece will beam a raw, uncompromising and personal light on themes of Type 1 diabetes, queerness and mental health, stylishly wrapped in a flourish of hope and redemption.
An entertaining romp of an original and exciting production making its debut on the Coffs Coast. Slag Dump (aka Billy White) is a performer/filmmaker who grew up in Bonville NSW and whose first small screen appearance was advertising his parent’s carport company at the age of 5. You might remember the catchline: “He’ll get you covered”.
Honing his craft from a very young age, Billy managed to build a broad creative span encompassing all forms of artistic expression. No stranger to the Jetty Theatre stage he appeared there in numerous plays, musicals and also in films & TVCs – he even duetted with Jimmy Barnes in 2006 on Australia’s Funniest Home Videos.
Billy studied film at the Australian Film & Television Radio School in his early 20s and has been working in the industry for the past 8 years. Billy appears in a lead role in American/Australian comedy film “Malibu Crush” releasing in 2022. This is Billy’s first performance at the Jetty Theatre since 2012.
