About

Celebrations to mark the centenary of the Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix are happening in Goulburn, 21 – 23 June 2024, exactly 100 years after the first race. The festivities features an escorted, re-enactment ride along the original 80km course. The original event, a sanctioned official Grand Prix by the Auto Cycle Union of NSW, and organised by the Goulburn Motorcycle Club, traversed a challenging 43.5-mile course starting from the outskirts of Goulburn onto Windellama, Bungonia, and along Mountain Ash Road back to Goulburn. The original course remains intact and can still be ridden today. The Senior Grand Prix was won by Dave Brewster riding an Indian Chief, followed by T Benstead and R Preston on Harley-Davidsons. The centenary celebration includes a classic motorcycle parade, motocross at the Goulburn Motorcycle Club, a display of classic and vintage bikes, demonstration rides, live music, and an official dinner. To celebrate, the Goulburn Motorcycle Grand Prix Association, supported by Indian Motorcycle, will raffle a Ruby Smoke MY23 Indian Scout Bobber Twenty valued at AUD23,995! The raffle will be drawn at 3pm on Sunday 23 June 2024 at Goulburn Recreation Area, Braidwood Rd, Goulburn, NSW. Tickets are on sale now, just click the booking link for your chance to win. This event aims to celebrate the pioneers of Australian motorcycle racing, leaving lasting memories for generations.
