About

Goulburn is a prominent city for the history of motorsport in Australia. While it has long been known that [Australia's First Motorcycle Grand Prix] was held in the district, only relatively recently was it discovered that the city was also the location of Australia's First Grand Prix. In 2017, the 90th anniversary was celebrated with an unveiling of a memorial to the First Australian Grand Prix for All Powers Racing Cars and to the winner, the late Geoffrey Charles Edwin Meredith. Geoffrey Meredith, at the time, lived at Windellama. The plaque for Geoffrey Meredith was unveiled proudly by his second cousin alongside a board telling the event's history. Due to current advice on public gatherings, please contact the host of this event to confirm it is proceeding as planned.
