About

For the ultimate Mudgee experience, take part in this Landscape Expressionism Workshop, led by the charismatic Peter Griffen. You’ll learn to paint and draw directly from the landscape whilst also working in the studio where abstracting your response to the landscape and letting your imagination run wild will be encouraged. During this two-day workshop Peter will demonstrate a range of techniques with acrylic paint including brushing, scraping, splashing, dripping, glazing, collaging and more. You’ll then be free to experiment with other techniques using graphite, pastels, charcoal, ink and any other material of interest. Working from photographs is also an option. Distortions made can help focus on certain aspects, plus you can also introduce exaggerated dynamics to make the imagery more theatrical and perhaps more potent. The joy and appreciation of the landscape will be of the essence and each individual will be encouraged to find their own way to show this, with the skill to copy having no importance. Essentially, all participants will be offered total freedom to express themselves in a relaxed, creative and supportive setting. Entry Cost All tickets $245 - This includes complimentary lunch set against a romantic and utterly breathtaking backdrop. You’ll feel at one with nature in Rosby’s gorgeously rustic mud hut, upon a hill overlooking the picturesque vineyard, you’ll be treated to an exclusive wine tasting with the vigneron followed by a walking tour of the vines.
