Cooeee Sista's Art Workshops presents local Aboriginal artist Debbs Robinson in three fun filled hours of Traditional Aboriginal Basket Weaving that will share culture, delight & fascinate, educating adults & children alike. Phone/text Debbs right now on 0434 464646 to secure your place for fun at 12.30pm - 3.30pm on Saturday 20th April, 2024, at the Sea Scouts Hall, Port Macquarie because you don't want to miss out on this. An adult ticket is only $60 per person and your children/grandchildren (4-13yrs), can learn how to weave with you for half price, only $30 each! More than one child in the same immediate family ... $30 first child ... subsequent children only $20 each. This covers all tuition, materials and a scrummy afternoon tea. Cooeee Sista's are all about connecting with community, families and culture. Maybe you're wanting to reconnect with culture or maybe you're connecting with it for the very first time, It doesn't matter, because it’s a fantastic opportunity for everyone to learn more about Aboriginal culture and learn a skill that is thousands of years old! If you've always wondered about it, here is your chance to learn how to weave. The skill and knowledge will stay with you forever and the experience of learning this skill with your children is priceless. You'll never look at grasses the same way again! Cooeee Sistas provide a safe, attractive, nurturing space that will encourage your creativity to come to the fore. We like it a bit warm and fuzzy! This exciting afternoon kicks off with Debbs sharing with you, her passion, love & knowledge of traditional Aboriginal weaving practises using native grasses and demonstrating same. Debbs will then invite you to start your very own basket.
