About

South Eveleigh Solstice Festival will be the first major public event to be held at this rejuvenated and historic site. A stone’s throw from Redfern Station, Locomotive Street in South Eveleigh is quickly emerging as Sydney’s newest drinking and dining attraction, and for two days during Solstice, we will transform this site into a medley of activity – fusing performance, art installations, music, food and beverage into a free street festival for everyone to enjoy. Once home to a collection of old railway sheds, the heritage buildings have been lovingly restored, retaining hundreds of old artefacts, which includes a working blacksmith on site that will transform to stage a beautiful art experience. Jiwah, an Indigenous cultural and landscape design firm run by Clarence Slockee who oversee the South Eveleigh Community Rooftop Garden will run workshops across the two days; a place for education on native fauna that is integral to the South Eveleigh land. Expect to be nourished by some amazing hospitality heavyweights including the new hotly anticipated Kylie Kwong Eatery, the world’s first permanent no-waste bar Re by Matt Whiley, RaRa Chan, Eat Fuh, Whitton, Steve Costi’s Famous Fish, Fishbowl, Bekya, Pepper Seed Thai, Sushi Hon, North Sandwiches and Yoho Loco. Stay tuned for updates that will be released in the coming weeks, we look forward to welcoming you to South Eveleigh Solstice Festival.
