ADFAS lecture Tom Duncan will speak about "Patrons of the Arts as Deadly Rivals"

Charles I created a court where architecture, painting and the visual arts received unprecedented encouragement form an English king. He deliberately set out to create a rival with the great courts of Europe. This led to great rivalries within the English noble families led by the Earl of Arundel and the Duke of Buckingham.
