Festival of the Wind is a unique and exciting event on the Capricorn Coast held at beautiful Emu Park's Bell Park and Fisherman's Beach. This high soaring fun-filled kite festival packing a full day of good ol’ out-doorsy fun attracts families from across the region. Be impressed by world-class professional kite flyers and designers showcasing their skills or join them by flying your own kite. Gaze towards the skies and be amazed at the colourful kites drifting in the breeze with lots of novel kites and soaring kite trains. Meander through a large bustling market, enjoy a carnival atmosphere with rides, games, face painting, balloon art, lots of kiddies workshops and activities, photo opportunities, live entertainment, and much more, with plenty of food and drink available. Or, for the more energetic wanting a challenge, join in the sand sculpturing competition, or test yourself and get a team together for the wacky beach games competitions. Have a chat with members from the Keppel Bay Sailing Club or the Capricornia Blokart Club, watch the Keppel Sands Coast Guard’s flare display. Enjoy live entertainment through to the finale at dusk when spectators will be awed by a monster fireworks display.
