About

Local author Aimee Goodwin-Cole will visit our libraries to share her book Grief is the price we way for love (Young Donnie’s Story), a novella inspired by the true story of an eight-year-old Australian Child. World War II is over, and Donnie narrates the events of her young life in the bush, and her resilience through a family tragedy. Donnie depends on her faith, her love of music, reading nature, her teacher’s kindness and her family and friend’s understanding to navigate her unusual life.

Aimee is a retired local schoolteacher with a background in music, art and commerce, and her academic qualifications include a postgraduate certificate in Suicide Research and Prevention. This is her first novel, and she is currently working on her second.
