About

We invite children and families to join us to get creative, be inspired and explore the decorative artform of the ‘grotesque’ through various hands-on and drawing activities, including creating a hybrid creature using imagery designed by the artist.

The Castle of Tarragindi was developed by the Children’s Art Centre at the Galley of Modern Art (GOMA) in collaboration with Australian artist Natalya Hughes. In her work, Hughes creates paintings, textiles, sculptures, and installations inspired by decorative and ornamental traditions.

‘The Castle of Tarragindi’ exhibition will be on display at the Gallery of Modern Art, Brisbane, until 14 July 2024.

Bookings required.

Book for just the children in attendance.
