About

Are you throwing away your green waste and food waste when you could be throwing it in a compost bin or worm farm and making fertiliser instead? Pandurunga Permaculture Farm's, Luke Mathews, will teach you in this free 2 hour workshop that's supported by Mackay Regional Council how to set up and use a home compost system and worm farm to reduce what your household sends to landfill while at the same time make compost, worm castings and worm juice that will improve your soil structure and plant health. At every workshop, there's the opportunity to win a 13kg bag of compost and 1000 compost worms provided by Mackay local food waste commercial composter, Auscan Worm Farm, as well as a Can O Worms worm farm and an Incredable Gift Shop voucher so you can repurpose a bathtub as a worm farm or buy a second-hand compost bin. The event is being held at Mackay Botanic Gardens, Lagoon Street, Mackay in front of the cafe on The Tropical Sun Garden Lawn.
