Concert 4 – Festival Closing Concert: "Impressions of Mozart"
Sunday 19 July, 2026, 4:00pm
Central Queensland Conservatorium of Music
Boundary Road, Ooralea
The 2026 festival closes with a program of elegance, colour, and lyrical beauty, culminating in one of the most beloved works in the repertoire.
The first half explores the rich sound world of French music, with works by Lili Boulanger, Erik Satie, Claude Debussy, and Ernest Chausson. Performed by renowned musicians Doretta Balkizas and Daniel de Borah, these works are full of delicate textures, shifting colours, and expressive nuance, offering a captivating contrast to the classical clarity that follows.
At the heart of the program is Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s Clarinet Concerto in A major—a work renowned for its warmth, grace, and unforgettable melodic beauty, performed by one of Australia’s most celebrated clarinettists.
This concert brings together an exceptional line-up of musicians, collaborating to create an ensemble of outstanding artistry and experience.
A fitting and uplifting close to the festival, sure to leave you with a lasting sense of connection and joy.
