Macclesfield Arts Festival Creative Pursuits offers accessible, affordable ‘bite-sized’ creative experiences offered in one township. Audiences may attend the art exhibition showcasing a range of mediums (photography, sculpture, ceramics, glass, watercolour, oils, acrylic) or stay and ‘play’ to attend one of the many interactive creative workshops on offer (weaving, printmaking, clay work, limestone sculpting, rug making, felting, drawing, painting, leather work, music). SA Stone Sculptors Association with Creative Pursuits are presenting a mini-symposium sculpture symposium 27th April -Sun 5 May 1-4pm daily at Crystal Lake Park. Come out over 9 days and watch the process unfold from raw stone to finished sculpture. There’ll be air hammers, angle grinders and the time honoured hammer and chisel method on display. Energy, sound and creativity abounds! Enter in the ‘Peoples Choice Award’ for your chance to win a $200 fine food and wine voucher from Longview Winery. Which sculpture will you vote for? The festival offers something for all age-group participation, families with children, the novice interested in trying a new creative outlet, practised artists and those who enjoy immersion in cultural experiences and meeting like-minded. Entry Cost All tickets $0 - Entry to the Art Exhibition, Open Mic, Kids Art Collaboration workshop and Children's Sculpture Activity trail are free.
