About

It is a community event promoting environmental, social, cultural and corporate sustainability, which aims to foster change by providing tools and opportunities for change by showcasing solutions to the ecological and social challenges we all face. Partnering with businesses, organisations, community groups, and individuals has enabled the festival to deliver an outstanding program showcasing diverse and inspiring living options, workshops, activities, stories, and resources aimed to inspire, teach, and guides us to a happier, healthier, and more sustainable future. Attendees are invited to swap their pre-loved clothes and toys, watch celebrity chef "Fast Eddie', join permaculture workshops, hear from Planet Ark Founder, John Dee, watch the community stage and roving entertainment, join a creative activity, stock up on local produce, wander through the community stalls, indulge in the multicultural food area, visit the informative corporate exhibits, take a guided tour of the wetlands, learn to ride a bicycle and much more. Two competitions are being held in conjunction with the festival. The Sustainable Superhero Competition invites school-aged children to build a superhero from recyclable products, while the Tasmanian Sustainable Business of the Year Award encourages Tasmanian businesses that place sustainability at the core of their business practice.
