About

Enjoy a fantastic day out celebrating all things Japan with a Temari Ball Workshop in the morning with morning tea, followed by a delicious Japanese themed lunch and a Yukata Dressing and Japanese Tea and Sweet Tasting in the afternoon facilitated by Leanne O'Sullivan from Kimono House in Melbourne. Temari Ball Workshop: Temari have been traditionally stitched in Japan for generations. Once made by women and given as gifts in the new year, the craft has now become popular around the world. In this workshop you will learn the basic skills to hand-stitch your own Temari to take home. A pattern suitable for beginners will be taught so all skill levels are welcome. All materials will be provided including threads, needle and ball for you to create your own delightful Temari to give as a gift or keep to trim the tree at Christmas time. After a lovely Japanese themed lunch enjoy an informative and refreshing afternoon with Yukata Dressing and Japanese Tea and Sweet Tasting. Follow a step-by-step demonstration to dress in Yukata, the casual Japanese kimono and learn how to tie the obi sash. During the Tea and Sweet Tasting Leanne will make three varieties of Japanese tea including matcha, cherry blossom and genmai cha for tasting with matching Japanese sweets. Entry Cost All tickets $245 - Per person
