The Crafty Squirrel Japanese Craft Retreat

Join designer/maker Morgan Wills from the Crafty Squirrel on a fabulous Japanese themed craft retreat. Not in Japan but in her hometown of Ballarat. Based on the success of our recent retreat we are very pleased to say we are doing it all again from Sunday 22 to Tuesday 24 May 2022. Having run a number of craft tours to Japan since 2017, we haven’t given up hope on running tours again in the future, however in the meantime we can still have fun, with a little Japanese themed getaway. Everything from accommodation to all meals and three different workshops are included. Come by yourself, or with a friend or loved one and be prepared to learn some new skills and have a great few days. Sunday - Travel to Ballarat and learn the craft of Japanese bookbinding with Michelle from the Paperazzi Design Studio Monday – Get stitching with a modern approach to sashiko in a Zaku Zaku Bag making workshop with Morgan Wills and then get your shopping shoes on with a private visit to The Crafty Squirrel and a spot of fabric and vintage shopping too. Tuesday – Enjoy learning a new technique with local textile designer Nicola Cerini as you create a unique Japanese themed artwork screen printed on plywood. Bookings now open.
