Exhibition by Amanda Western, ‘Fragile Fight’

Ross Creek Gallery presents local printmaker Amanda Western's exhibition ‘Fragile Fight’. Artist statement: "I believe in the transformative potential of artistic expression, considering it a catalyst for healing and a tool to deepen our understanding of environmental responsibility. "Fragile Fight" is my contribution to the ongoing conversation about conservation, encouraging viewers to contemplate their role in safeguarding the beauty of our wild places and those lands under the guardianship of government agencies and farmers. Through this collection, I aspire to raise awareness of the importance of preserving the environment’s ecosystems and to prompt reflection on our connection and connectivity to the environment. The title "Fragile Fight" refers to the vulnerable status of many ecosystems and species across the world but also honours their resilience and attempts to adapt and overcome the challenges presented." Ross Creek Gallery is a new gallery located 10 minutes outside of Ballarat in the bush, showcasing emerging and established artists from the region.
