Twenty years ago Australian artist, Virginia Ryan, made her home in Trevi, central Italy. Her first community project was to involve 100 townspeople in a 'group portrait’ through contributions of worn shoes accompanied by brief narratives. They told a collective story of time, memory and place and were exhibited in the city museum.
To mark the twenty year anniversary of CENTO PASSI, Virginia will recreate the project in the Balmoral community, linking Australian content with the original. A story-telling workshop will be held during the residency, facilitated by professional dramaturges and screenwriters- follow the Chameleon Arts Collective Facebook page for details.
