Experience the hot Gypsy blood of internationally renowned violinist Joszef Lendvay who will dazzle you with his brilliance and finesse as you're taken on an uplifting journey through the pillars of romantic masterworks for the violin. Joszef will be joined by the highly acclaimed pianist Edward Neeman. Bloch: Baal Shem Brahms: Sonata no.3 in D minor Ravel: Tzigane Born in Budapest in 1974, the violinist József Lendvay comes from one of Hungary’s best-known families of Roma musicians. He began playing violin at the age of three, subsequently receiving his classical training at the Béla Bartók Conservatory and the Franz Liszt Academy of Music in his hometown. He won the Tibor Varga Competition in 1997 and was awarded the Annie Fischer Prize in 1998. Lendvay is a regular guest soloist with the Budapest Festival Orchestra and has also performed with the Los Angeles Philharmonic, Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra, City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, and the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande. He has received two Echo Klassik Awards: in 2005 for the album Lendvay and in 2013 for Dancing Paris. With his Soliszti Salon Orchestra, he combines classical and folkloric traditions. József Lendvay plays the Stradivari “Ex-Ries” from 1693.
