About

WHY GO BLUE FOR JUNE?

Busselton’s month of compassion, connection and community-led care.

Go Blue for June has grown into Busselton Hospice Care Inc.’s signature annual campaign - a time when our community comes together to learn, participate, remember, and contribute. It is more than a fundraiser: it is our opportunity to connect with local people; to share what we offer; to invite you into the heart of our work; and to highlight the many ways BHCI supports individuals and families living with life-limiting illnesses.

OUR VISION

  • Our community supporting life lived well, caring, death and bereavement.
  • Our mission – no one needs to die or grieve alone.

OUR FOCUS FOR 2026

In 2026, Go Blue for June will focus on developing our revenue base to expand the services delivered at Compassionate Care Geographe in Craig St, which is a welcoming, safe, and supportive space for anyone navigating serious illness, caring responsibilities, grief, or bereavement. Our aim is to expand a thriving community resource centre where people can find comfort, carers can access timely support, volunteers can offer companionship, and individuals can receive guidance to navigate the health system with confidence.

OUR RANGE OF SERVICES

  • Bereavement support (individual and group).
  • Complementary therapies for carers and clients.
  • Advance Care Planning sessions.
  • Carer education and wellbeing workshops.
  • Meeting spaces for carer and support groups.
  • Volunteer coordination and professional supervision.
  • A welcoming place for companionship and relaxation – an inviting space in a garden setting close to the beach.

All services remain free of charge.

COLLABORATION TO PROVIDE CARE

BHCI has never received ongoing government funding. Instead, our strength lies in community generosity, volunteerism, and our valued partnership with WA Country Health Service. Together, we ensure that people in the Hospice Unit receive not only clinical care from the nursing staff, but emotional and social support from trained volunteers.

WHY WE NEED YOUR HELP

Medical advances mean people are living longer with life-limiting illness—but longer journeys require deeper support. At Busselton Hospice Care Inc., we aim to walk alongside people and those who love them from the moment of diagnosis, through living well for as long as possible, and into grief and bereavement. As a local, independent charity, our work is powered by compassion and made possible through community generosity. Donations, business partnerships, philanthropy, and Go Blue for June events ensure our volunteer-led services remain free and accessible. Go Blue for June is about standing together as a community—bringing care, dignity, and comfort with people as they move through life’s most profound moments and ensuring no one in our community faces life, caring, death, or bereavement alone.
